A recent report from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) unveils noteworthy information voids facing homebuyers.
Conducted by Ipsos B&A, the research identifies key challenges where missing information leaves buyers feeling uncertain and stuck due to prolonged delays.
The report reveals varying levels of trust consumers place in different participants of the homebuying process, with sellers (16%) and estate agents (22%) ranked among the least trusted. Notably, friends and family are perceived as the most reliable sources of information at 79%, closely followed by buyers’ solicitors and engineers at 78% and 73%, respectively.
Additionally, the research indicates a strong consumer desire for earlier access to information, with 78% in agreement that estate agents should disclose pertinent details to all potential buyers when one makes an inquiry about a property.
