CCPC Conveyancing Research

SHARE:

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has released a foundational survey examining consumer experiences in home buying and selling.

Conducted by Ipsos B&A, this research collects insights into the 2024 consumer journey in property transactions.

Key areas of exploration include:

  • Their satisfaction regarding their interactions with estate agents and solicitors during the conveyancing process(es)
  • When they first engaged a solicitor in relation to the purchase and/or sale
  • Whether they received written details of all likely costs from their solicitor, and what amount these were
  • The challenges encountered during the conveyancing process(es) and how it could be improved

This research was conducted by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission in response to a recommendation by the Housing for All Expert Group on
Conveyancing and Probate led by the Department of an Taoiseach, and that includes several public organisations and industry bodies.
